Lane & Waterman attorneys Ian Russell and Trista Beise successfully defended an eastern Iowa surgeon in a medical malpractice claim where the Plaintiff initially sought over $500,000 in damages.  The suit alleged the Plaintiff suffered a recurrent hernia that went undiagnosed by the surgeon. On February 28, 2018, after a three-day trial, the jury unanimously found in favor of the surgeon.  The jury found the Surgeon met the standard of care, appropriately managed the Plaintiff’s care, and awarded no damages to the Plaintiff.
