Mason to Serve on Gender Bias Panel for Federal Practice Seminar
Lane & Waterman attorney Andrea Mason will serve on the “Gender Bias in the Legal Profession” panel at the 2017 Federal Practice Seminar on Friday, December 15 in Des Moines, Iowa. The panel, moderated by the Hon. Helen C. Adams and which includes judges and practitioners, will focus on tackling bias and unprofessional conduct.
The Federal Practice Seminar will also include keynote speaker Linda Greenhouse, a 1998 Pulitzer Prize Winner for Beat Reporting (United States Supreme Court), panels of Iowa’s Article III and Magistrate Judges addressing issues facing Iowa’s federal courts, and presentations by judges, U.S. Attorneys, and civil law practitioners.
Andrea is a member of the Federal Practice Committee of the Iowa State Bar Association. She practices in the firm’s Litigation & Appeals group, primarily in the areas of white collar criminal defense, government compliance, and civil litigation. Andrea has defended civil suits involving legal malpractice, negligence, and civil rights claims against law enforcement officers. Andrea has also defended individuals accused of violations of state and federal law, including complex business and tax offenses. In 2017, she was listed in the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list for White Collar Criminal Defense.
