In the recently published Iowa State Bar Association’s Public Service 2015-2016 Pro Bono Honor Roll, eight Lane & Waterman attorneys are listed, including Judy Herrmann, Doug Lindstrom, Abbey Furlong, Sam Skorepa, Kurt Spurgeon, Josh McIntyre, Kyle Day, and Tim Gulbranson. Among those honored, Abbey Furlong was recognized for providing over 50 hours of pro bono service, the aspirational standard suggested by the bar association.

The honor roll is compiled from data provided by the Iowa Legal Aid Volunteer Lawyers Project, the Legal Aid Society of Story County, the Polk County Bar Association, and the Pro Bono Project of Scott County. Inclusion on the list requires the attorney to have closed one or more pro bono referral cases and reported the final disposition of the case to the volunteer lawyers project.

Pro bono work is an important part of Lane & Waterman’s commitment to community service. Firm attorneys provide over 300 hours of pro bono service each year through partnerships with Iowa Legal Aid and Prairie States Legal Services.
