Spencer M. Willems joined Lane & Waterman in 2019 and practices primarily in litigation and appeals as well as employment and labor law. He also handles matters ranging from administrative law to construction and probate matters.
Spencer graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor’s in Journalism. Prior to Lane & Waterman, he worked for a newspaper and TV news station in Cedar Rapids. He then spent several years as a crime reporter, then politics reporter, for a newspaper in Little Rock, Arkansas where he received numerous awards and honors for his reporting. Spencer left Arkansas for law school at Drake University, where he was active in campus organizations and a multi-year member of the school’s Negotiations Team and ABA Moot Court team. He also was a member of the Drake Law Review where he served as Research Editor. He received honors of Order of the Barrister and Order of the Coif before graduating with highest honors in 2019.
Spencer lives in Davenport. He enjoys running, live music, and keeping up with the news in his free time.
