Joshua J. McIntyre joined Lane & Waterman in 2012 and practices primarily in the areas of intellectual property, information technology, and professional malpractice, including matters concerning computer fraud, privacy and data breach, copyrights, trade secrets, domain names, and legal malpractice defense.

Joshua writes regularly on intellectual property matters.  His work appears in the DePaul Law Review and the Iowa Defense Counsel Association’s Defense Update newsletter.  He has been cited in numerous scholarly works on data privacy, including Privacy and Data Protection in Business (LexisNexis 2012) and The Oxford Handbook of Internet Studies (Oxford University Press 2013).

Joshua serves on the Board of Directors for the Iowa Defense Counsel Association. In the Quad Cities, Joshua serves as Treasurer of Dillon Inn, the local chapter of the American Inns of Court, on advisory councils at Saint Ambrose University, and as co-chair of the Young Life Davenport committee.

Joshua received his B.A., summa cum laude, in Computer Investigations and Economics from Saint Ambrose University and his J.D., magna cum laude, from the DePaul University College of Law.  He is a member of the Order of the Coif and previously served as Editor of Articles, Notes, and Comments for the DePaul Law Review.  He resides in Davenport with his wife and their two children.
