Jason J. O’Rourke

Biography

Jason J. O’Rourke joined the firm in 1998. His practice is almost entirely devoted to litigation and appeals. Jason has litigated complex construction cases through jury trials and arbitrations. He has also litigated a number of cases involving noncompetition agreements and post-employment restrictions. Finally, he has handled a variety of commercial and personal injury cases such as breach of contract, wrongful death and premises liability claims.

In 2012 and 2016-2022, Jason was selected to Super Lawyers, a rating service of lawyers who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. He is also listed in The Best Lawyers in America for Construction Law. In 2014, he was voted into the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers. Membership in The Academy is by invitation only and is limited to 250 attorneys who have displayed exceptional skills and the highest integrity, and who have dedicated their professional lives primarily to trial practice. In 2020, Jason was recognized by Chambers USA in America’s Leading Business Lawyers with a “Band 4” rating for Litigation: General Commercial. Jason O’Rourke is viewed as a “good trial lawyer who is effective, efficient and quick on his feet.”  In 2018, Jason was inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers, which is composed of preeminent members of the Trial Bar from the United States and Canada and is recognized as the leading trial lawyers organization in both countries. Fellowship is extended only by invitation, after careful investigation, to those experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. Although there are currently more than 5,800 Fellows across the U.S. and Canada, membership can never be more than 1% of the total lawyer population of any state or province.

Jason received his B.A. with honors from Creighton University in 1995. He received his J.D. with honors from Creighton University School of Law in 1998. While in law school, Jason was on Law Review and served as the Lead Articles Editor.
