Community InvolvementIt is ingrained in our value system that community service is not only an obligation but a privilege. We are grateful and indebted to the community that has helped foster the success of our firm. Lane & Waterman attorneys are committed to community involvement and give back to the Quad Cities in both legal and personal capacities.
The firm's attorneys participate in and provide leadership to a number of organizations related to the legal profession. Attorneys serve in numerous positions in local, state and national bar related associations. Robert Waterman is the current President of the Iowa State Bar Association. Ian Russell is the Secretary of the Young Lawyers Division of the Iowa State Bar Association. In addition, Lane & Waterman attorneys serve on numerous area boards and are involved in a variety of charitable and community activities that enrich the immediate Quad Cities and the Iowa-Illinois region. The firm's nearly 40 attorneys hold leadership roles on a number of local boards and committees.
In celebrating our 150th anniversary, Lane & Waterman confirmed its commitment to community service and its deep roots in the Quad-Cities by donating $150,000 to support the efforts of HELP Legal Assistance in Davenport and Prairie States Legal Services in Rock Island. Both entities provide free legal assistance to individuals living in the Quad Cities who lack means to access the legal system. The donation was in keeping with Lane & Waterman's longstanding support of legal aid. Lane & Waterman lawyers provide a minimum of 250 hours of free legal assistance annually to the agencies. |
